This week’s animal is……Eagles

SPECIES

There are many different types of eagles in the world; from the tiny little eagle (which inhabits Australia) to the giant Stellars Sea Eagle (whose wingspan measures up to 145cm)! There are more than 60 types of eagles in the world! Thought the Stellars Sea Eagles wingspan was big? Well, the Harpy eagle’s wingspan can measure up to 2m

HABITAT

Eagles live in a lot of places.  They live on all earth’s continents except Antarctica. Eagles use cliffs, trees some even use burrows as nests.

Diet

Eagles eat a wide variety of food which varies from fish to other birds. They will eat small rodents (such as squirrels) and lizards as well! Some eagles even eat foxes, cats, young deer and goats!
