Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2106/17

The wildlife photographer of the year 2016/17

Hi everyone (especially photographer lovers),

On the 25th Febuary, I went to the wildlife photographer of the year and yet again fabulous photos were on display. The exhibition is located in the Natural History Museum (South Kensington). This article will tell you all about it!

The Peoples’ Choice winner

The winners of this section are always excellent and this year was no exception! The Peoples’ Choice Winner was The Blue Tail by Mario Cea. The photo was of a Kingfisher plunging into a lake. It was a winner because the bird was going so fast that it left a blue trail behind itself!

The young wildlife photographer winner

The young photographer award was won by Gideon Knight. His picture was of a crow on a tree. It was special because everything except for the moon was silhouetted. Also, the branches are all twisted so it looks spooky.

The overall winner

The overall winner was won by Tim Laman. His photo was of a Orangutang climbing up a HUGE tree. As far as I can see, there are no special affects used in this picture. I think it was the winner because of the view you get from where it was snapped. There are loads of trees below and you get a great view.
